The safety of all students is a #1 priority at all schools; however not every incident that occurs is “bullying”. What is a bully? “Bully” is defined as follows:
Noun: A bully is defined as a person who repeatedly likes to hurt or tease others.
Verb: To repeatedly intimidate someone, to make someone feel afraid or intimidated.
Elementary school children are developing and learning proper social skills for their age levels. Some of their actions are unintentionally inappropriate or hurtful. Sometimes they are mimicking the aggressive behavior they see regularly on TV or video games. All students will learn to understand the difference between bullying and mean behavior, and teachers/staff will help encourage students to be kind and respectful towards one another.
