LA Conservation Corps
As part of the LA Conservation Corps’ commitment to education, the After School Program strives to extend the school day in fun and exciting ways. In working partnership with LAUSD’s Beyond the Bell, our team of expert educators created program that helps create community and cultivate leaders. In addition to a safe worry-free environment, the After School Program provides academic assistance, enrichment clubs, social emotional learning, teambuilding activities and memorable mentoring experiences, enrichment activities, nutrition, physical fitness and homework time is provided for those students capable of independent supervision at the playground site.
This program is not a childcare program, but a permissive program. Children are expected to conduct themselves appropriately and may lose the opportunity to participate if their behavior is disruptive. This wide range of academic and enrichment activities are geared towards building self-esteem, social skills, and experience-based knowledge. For emergency purposes, parents/guardians are required to complete and maintain all phone numbers and contact information.
The LACC and YS is closed on all non-instructional days (weekends, holidays, pupil free days, etc.). Playground services are only available during scheduled hours.
For a student to be approved to participate, in the After-School Program Application/Agreement must be complete. The application can be found in the main office.
